When we speak about philosophy, what we are talking about is a worldview, a unity of ontology (statements about the objective constitution of the world) and an epistemology (claims relating to the question of knowledge, both in a descriptive and prescriptive sense - i.e., how we think we view the world, and, in some cases, how we should view the world to understand it best).
