This is part one of a two-part course on Marxist-Leninist thought. Part one will be running for eight weeks, from November to December. It will be covering some of the most important work produced by V. I. Lenin. Classes are at 7pm CST on Thursdays, with the exception of Thanksgiving week, when class will be held on Tuesday. All students receive an additional recording of the class once it ends.
It will be taught by Carlos L. Garrido.
Carlos is a Cuban American philosophy professor. He is the director of the Midwestern Marx Institute and the Secretary of Education of the American Communist Party. He has authored many books, including The Purity Fetish and the Crisis of Western Marxism (2023), Why We Need American Marxism (2024), Marxism and the Dialectical Materialist Worldview (2022), and the forthcoming On Losurdo's Western Marxism (2025) and Hegel, Marxism, and Dialectics (2025). Far as i know, Communism is a dead issue. Something for eggheads to quibble over. Even the dictators of Russia and China are fascists now, not communists. it's easier- you don't have to come up with elaborate explanations of how you are really following Marx while you are looting the country for your own benefit. Now I DO think the D party in the US retains some distinctly Chinese Communist leanings. Notably their penchant for speech control and gun control. But they aren't real communists, just dickheads who should be made to go get real jobs.
