It is fascinating to learn what was going on during Marx's life, both personal and in the wider world, relative to what he wrote. I like to casually drop a remark about Marx being one of the most popular and prolific journalists in America at the New York Tribune, or about his correspondence with Lincoln and watch the jaws hit the floor.
