The article is good. But I would like to add I think the irony of US media making stories about Cuba and the failure of socialism, while Haiti really is in collapse, is too bitter to swallow. Perhaps its my prejudices showing but I'm not even convinced that the performance of Puerto Rico is such good advertising for democracy either. And for that matter I'm not so convinced that even Ireland is doing a swell as its NIPA statistics. I believe Sri Lanka is something of a real nightmare too.
Nonetheless I am not very hopeful mere comparisons and pointing out the efforts to make Cuba fail will be acceptable to committed democrats. Good luck in your Sisyphean labors!
